BOTOX is a natural, purified protein that relaxes wrinkle-causing muscles creating a smoothed, rejuvenated and more youthful appearance. The treatment is a simple non-surgical procedure that smoothens the deep persistent facial lines that develop over time.

There are two kinds of wrinkles – dynamic and static wrinkles.

Dynamic wrinkles are only visible when we express ourselves though a smile, frown or cry, thus causing the muscles on our faces to contract. Frown lines are dynamic wrinkles caused by over-active muscles. These can be eradicated by BOTOX.

Static wrinkles are stubborn lines which emerge visibly even when the face is relaxed. These are the result of ageing as our skin becomes less elastic with age and they require treatment with dermal fillers.

Your doctor will determine exactly where to use BOTOX to achieve the best results. No anesthetic is required. Treatment takes around 10 minutes. A tiny amount of BOTOX is placed in selected facial muscles via tiny injections using a very fine needle. There is minimal discomfort under Dr Adrian Koh’s experienced hands and tender approach. Some patients describe it as an ant bite sting for a few seconds.

There is no down time as most people resume normal activities immediately. After injection, it takes 2-3 days for BOTOX to begin taking effect and around 7 days to see the full effect. BOTOX lasts for 4 to 6 months, depending on the individual. Studies have shown that with repeat BOTOX treatment, the effect can last longer, so the patient may require less frequent treatment in the future to maintain the desired result.
